Shopify WhatsApp integration for live order tracking.

Customers ask where their parcel is. The answer comes from your store and the courier, in the same chat.

This Shopify WhatsApp integration answers order questions in the chat: an assistant identifies the customer by phone or order number, reads the order and the latest courier scan, and replies with a status and ETA. Updates follow as the parcel moves, and late or lost parcels reach your support team with the history attached.

  • Live order and courier status
  • Updates as the parcel moves
  • Delays handed to support

No upfront consultation fee. Free discovery and a free tailored proposal.

The problem

The same question, answered by hand all day.

Most messages to an online store ask where an order is. Someone copies the order number, opens the store admin, then the courier site, then types the answer back. During sales and festive peaks the queue grows faster than the team can clear it.

Before: tracking by hand

  1. A customer asks where the order is
  2. Staff find the order in the store admin
  3. Paste the tracking number into the courier site
  4. Type the status back in WhatsApp
  5. The customer asks again two days later

After: the tracking assistant

  1. A customer asks on WhatsApp, any time
  2. Order and courier status read live
  3. Reply with a status and ETA
  4. Late or lost parcels go to supportYour team
  5. Updates sent as the parcel moves

Support stops copying tracking numbers between tabs. Customers hear about a delay before they need to ask.

How it works

From question to ETA, then WhatsApp order notifications.

Six steps behind every WhatsApp order tracking reply. The data comes from your store and the courier; support only sees parcels that need a person.

FAQ

Shopify WhatsApp integration questions.

Straight answers about scope, data, ownership and support. Can’t find yours? Ask us directly below.

How does Shopify WhatsApp integration work for order tracking?

It connects your Shopify orders and your couriers' tracking data to a WhatsApp assistant. When a customer asks where an order is, the assistant matches them, reads the fulfilment status and the latest courier scan, and replies with a plain-language status and ETA. Parcels that stop moving go to your support team with the history attached.

How does WhatsApp order tracking find the right order?

First by the WhatsApp number saved on the order. If the customer writes from a different number, they are asked for the order number plus the email or postcode on it. Order details are shared only once the customer is matched, in line with PDPA, so one buyer never sees another's parcel.

Can it send Shopify WhatsApp order confirmation messages?

Yes, to customers who opt in. Order confirmation, shipped, out-for-delivery and delivered messages are sent as approved WhatsApp templates, triggered by events in Shopify. Meta charges a fee for template messages, so which updates to send is agreed with you as part of the scope.

Which couriers does it work with?

Couriers with a tracking API connect directly, and others can be read through a tracking aggregator your store may already use. We check each courier you ship with during discovery, including the local Malaysian couriers, and confirm how quickly their tracking scans appear.

What happens when a parcel is delayed or lost?

Your support team takes over. Rules you set, such as no courier scan for three days or a failed delivery, open a case with the order, the courier history and the chat. The customer is told a person is looking into it, and the assistant never promises a date the courier hasn't given.

Who controls what the assistant tells customers?

Your team decides. Replies come only from live order and courier data plus answers you approve, such as delivery areas and shipping times. Address changes, refunds and complaints go to support with the conversation attached, and Shopify access is limited to the order data the assistant needs.

How much does a Shopify WhatsApp integration cost?

It depends on your order volume, how many couriers you use, which delivery updates you want and the languages you reply in, plus Meta's template fees. We quote privately once a free discovery call has mapped your flow. Most stores start with answering status questions, then add proactive updates once replies are accurate.

Is this better than a Shopify WhatsApp app or plugin?

It depends on what you need. A plugin can send basic order notifications quickly. This build also reads courier tracking, replies in English, Bahasa Melayu and Chinese, and hands problem parcels to your team, which suits stores whose customers ask more than a single notification answers.
